FAQ

Does LASIK hurt?

Typically, no.

During LASIK surgery, your surgeon applies anesthetic eye drops to numb your eyes. Because of this, most folks don’t feel any pain during the procedure.

Even though it typically isn’t painful, it’s not uncommon to feel a little pressure or slight discomfort during the procedure.

Once the surgery is over, you are encouraged to take a nap for at least a few hours, otherwise you might feel a slight burning sensation for a few hours. Your eyes also might feel itchy, dry, or watery after surgery. This is a normal part of the recovery process and is temporary. Usually, the recommended lubricating eye drops you were instructed to get should be more than enough to provide relief as you recover.

I want LASIK. What do I need to do to get it?

Take the LASIK self-test and someone will contact you to set up a LASIK consultation. During a LASIK consultation, you’ll discuss your eyecare options with highly trained medical professionals from a LASIK practice that is local to your area.

How do I know the real price of LASIK?

During your initial consultation, you’ll receive a breakdown of how much you can expect to pay. The pricing breakdown includes costs for the surgery as well as pre- and post-operative care. We’ll even include how much you can expect to spend in taxes and let you know what portion–if any–your insurance is likely to cover.

No hidden fees. Just complete transparency.

Why does it matter if my independent LASIK surgeon is local to my area?

Your eyecare doesn’t stop after you have LASIK surgery. There are follow-up appointments and continual treatment plans that are necessary to ensure your vision remains clear.

By having a local independent surgeon perform your LASIK surgery, you have the option to have them handle your ongoing eyecare. This benefits you because they have already earned your trust by performing your LASIK surgery and they are already very familiar with your eyecare situation.

Your eyecare is important, and at LASIK Doctor Network, we know your relationship with your ophthalmologist is important, too.

That’s why we emphasize the value of having a local ophthalmologist perform your LASIK surgery.

And that’s why we want you to have access to a surgeon who is local to your area.
