Dr. Hoon C. Jung is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained specialist in cornea, cataract, and vision correction surgery, with 14 years of experience. He earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and his medical degree from the University of Rochester, School of Medicine and Dentistry. He completed his residency at the University at Buffalo and his fellowship at the University of Rochester’s Flaum Eye Institute. Dr. Jung has an extensive background in academia and teaching, and has served as an active duty military surgeon, including deployment as a trauma surgeon in Afghanistan and as a flight surgeon in an aeromedical transport unit. He has also participated in humanitarian missions, providing eye care in underserved areas such as Liberia and Ecuador. He graduated with highest distinction honors from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and earned his medical degree with Alpha Omega Alpha Honors from the University of Michigan School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, and his fellowship at the University of Utah’s John Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City, UT. Dr. Patel has been recognized as one of “America’s Top Ophthalmologists” and has been voted a “Top Doctor” by Seattle Magazine and Seattle Metropolitan Magazine for eleven years. He was the first surgeon in Western Washington certified for the Visian Implantable Contact Lens (ICL) and has served as the Ophthalmology State Society President for the Washington Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.
