Dr. James Freeman, the oldest son of Dr. Jerre Freeman, specializes in cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, corneal transplants, and LASIK. He graduated from Vanderbilt University, where he was active in the band, and earned his Medical Degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. He completed his Residency at Louisiana State University Medical Center Ophthalmology Program in Shreveport and a Corneal Fellowship at the Beckman Laser Institute, University of California, Irvine. Dr. Freeman has been a clinical investigator for FDA clinical trials and has participated in advanced laser refractive surgical research. He currently serves as a clinical instructor at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and has conducted international research and training in laser techniques for refractive surgery. He is a published author in medical journals, has received the Outstanding Staff Award twice, and is board certified in LASIK by the American Board of Eye Surgery.
